Kearney Construction Company – History
Kearney first made a name for itself as a small earthmoving company in the early fifties. Prior to entering the construction business, Wes Kearney, founder of KCC worked for a leading boiler plant manufacturer that required him to travel extensively. Not wanting to leave his wife Joanne home alone with their three young sons Wes Kearney quit his job. That same day he purchased his first bulldozer and on that day began what would become the Kearney family of companies.
Wes Kearney wasn’t a stranger to hard work and dedicated himself to long hours each day and often six and seven day workweeks. Wife Joanne worked along side him handling the invoicing and company paperwork. As people of great integrity combined with a strong work ethic, Wes and Joanne built their companies and established long lasting relationships throughout the community. It was this, and their devotion to employees and clients, that made the Kearney companies what they are today.
The Second Generation
As the company grew, all three sons worked with their father at every opportunity. Whether working as equipment operators, pipe layers and laborers, each member of the Kearney family has performed every job within the company at one time or another.
Each son takes an active roll in the Kearney Companies today. Wes and Joanne provided the most influential of teachings to their boys. This is clear today as their three sons continue their legacy as men of incredible ethics, moral belief, strong judgment and character.
Today the third generation of Kearney's has begun taking the lead, directing the company towards the future. A strong foundation built through honest hard work by their grandparents and parents has given them a clear path to the standard that has been set and is expected.
